In mid-November 2025, ARGUS Laser dispatched a team of professional engineers to Moscow at the invitation of a leading Russian food packaging manufacturer. The mission was to install, commission, and provide operator training for a 3D galvo laser scoring system. This high-performance system enables precise laser scoring, micro-perforation, windowing, and complex pattern processing, helping the client achieve greater creativity and functionality in packaging design.
Upon arrival in Moscow, temperatures were near freezing, and a fresh snowfall had blanketed the roads. Despite the harsh outdoor conditions, the client provided a warm and comfortable factory environment and arranged a domestic vehicle to pick up the engineering
team, demonstrating thoughtful hospitality. This welcome set a positive tone for the project and left the team feeling valued and well-received.
Over the following days, the engineering team efficiently completed the equipment installation and parameter calibration, and conducted systematic training on equipment operation and process settings. The customer showed strong interest in the equipment’s high precision and multi-functionality, and both sides clarified the direction for future technical collaboration through in-depth communication.

The on-site project was completed within one week across six stages:
Packaging Line Dismantling
The team collaborated closely with local engineers to partially dismantle the existing packaging line, creating space for laser module integration.
Mechanical Frame Assembly
Custom-designed support frames were installed above the material transport path to ensure vibration-free stability for the 3D galvo head and laser source.
Laser System Integration
The core laser scoring machine was precisely aligned with the packaging film roll, achieving micron-level positioning accuracy to ensure consistent processing quality.
Control Software Calibration
The complete computer control system was installed and fine-tuned, including path programming, laser power adjustment, windowing mode configuration, and multi-layer scoring depth control.
Operator Training and On-Site Demonstration
Local operators received hands-on training for daily operation and maintenance. A full-speed production demonstration showcased the system’s real-time performance and operational efficiency.
Process Verification and Sample Testing
Various packaging structures were tested. Samples exhibited clean edges, high consistency, and reliable easy-open functionality, earning high praise from the client.

The client expressed strong satisfaction with the system’s precision, multifunctionality, and installation efficiency. In the Ready-to-Drink (RTD) beverage sector, laser scoring significantly enhanced packaging functionality and easy-open performance. On-site observations also revealed that packaging costs in Russia are generally high, highlighting the potential of laser solutions to optimize materials and improve packaging functionality, ultimately creating greater added value for clients.
This project demonstrated ARGUS Laser’s ability to deliver advanced, reliable laser solutions while further confirming the global influence of Chinese manufacturing. By extending laser technology from traditional industrial sectors into food packaging, ARGUS Laser enables clients to achieve significant improvements in packaging innovation, functionality, and efficiency.
