Recently, our engineering team was dispatched to a major packaging factory in Russia to complete the installation and commissioning of a 3D Galvo Head Model Laser Scoring Machine. This high-precision laser system is designed to integrate directly onto the customer’s existing packaging production line, enabling advanced laser scoring, perforation, and window-cutting on multilayer flexible packaging materials.

The entire on-site project lasted one week and was completed through six systematic engineering stages:
Packaging Line Disassembly
Our team collaborated with local engineers to partially dismantle the packaging line, creating the installation space necessary for the laser module.
Mechanical Frame Assembly
A customized support frame was installed to ensure stable, vibration-free mounting of the 3D galvo head and laser source above the material pathway.
Laser System Integration
The core Laser Scoring Machine was precisely positioned to match the web movement of packaging films, ensuring micron-level alignment accuracy.
Control Software Calibration
The full computer control system was installed and debugged, including path programming, power modulation, window cutting modes, and multi-layer scoring depth control.
Operation Training & Live Demonstration
Local operators were trained to operate and maintain the system, followed by real-time demonstrations at customer production speed.
Process Qualification & Sample Testing
Multiple packaging structures were tested on-site, including laser scoring, micro-perforation, and transparent window cutting. Sample results received excellent feedback for consistency, cleanness, and easy-open performance.

The Russian customer expressed high satisfaction with both the system’s performance and the overall installation efficiency. The precision of the Laser Scoring Machine significantly improved packaging functionality, especially in ready-to-drink product applications. During the visit, our team also observed the surprising price gap in the local market: Coca-Cola in Russia sells for five to six times the price in China. This high packaging cost highlights the strong market potential for laser scoring technology, as it enables material reduction and functional improvements without compromising quality.
Interestingly, our team noticed Chinese automobile brands widely visible on Russian streets.
